Jeff Erenstone, CPO, cofounder and chief technology officer (CTO), Create Orthotics & Prosthetics, Lake Placid, New York, announced his resignation from the company, effective immediately. He will continue providing clinical O&P care through Operation Namaste and Mountain Orthotic & Prosthetic Services, Lake Placid.
Â
Operation Namaste is a nonprofit organization Erenstone cofounded that provides prosthetic care and related rehabilitative services in Nepal and other developing countries by expanding the use of additive manufacturing/3D printing.
Â
Create O&P was founded in 2014. As the company’s first CEO and then CTO, Erenstone oversaw the development of two generations of 3D-printing machines and developed software that replicates the processes clinicians use to design sockets and other devices.
Â
“I am excited to take the lessons we learned here and improve care in the developing world where this technology will allow for clinical care in areas where it otherwise is currently unavailable,” he said.
