Embla Medical has been awarded the Presidential Export Award of Iceland for 2025. The award recognizes companies that play a key role in strengthening Iceland’s economy through outstanding international sales and marketing of Icelandic products and services. The award highlights the importance of foreign currency earnings to the national economy. The selection committee considers factors such as export value growth, the share of exports in total sales, market expansion, and other achievements.
“Accepting this recognition from president Halla Tomasdottir was a very meaningful moment,” CEO Sveinn Sölvason said on the company’s LinkedIn page. “We also had the privilege of receiving this award back in 1992, making this a good opportunity to reflect on our growth journey. From a small Icelandic company of around 15 people and a single product line, we’ve grown into a global organization of nearly 4,500 people across almost 40 countries, with millions of people worldwide relying on our mobility solutions every day.”
