Fillauer Companies, Chattanooga, Tennessee, has signed an agreement to acquire Therapeutic Recreational Systems. (TRS), Boulder, Colorado, a leader in the innovation of body-powered, upper limb prosthetic devices.

The transaction will close by the end of October.

Following the closing, TRS will maintain its operations in Boulder, and continue to service customers directly. Bob Radocy, TRS’s founder and CEO, will remain with the organization to provide transitional leadership and to advance the research and development, education, and marketing support of the TRS product lines, as well as   Fillauer’s Hosmer product offering.

“TRS is the gold standard for high quality, activity-specific, upper-limb terminal devices,” said Michael Fillauer, Fillauer CEO. “By combining TRS’s expertise with our resources and technology, we will continue to build the future of upper-limb prosthetics for our customers in the United States and around the world.”

“TRS is very excited about this acquisition by Fillauer,” said Radocy, TRS CEO. “Our companies have had a strong, positive business relationship for many years. This combination of talent and additional marketing strength will allow TRS to increase its reach around the world, while continuing to help us lead the way in developing new and innovative, body powered and activity specific upper-extremity prosthetic components.”
