Hanger announced the launch of Hanger Ventures, a subsidiary designed to focus on accelerating innovation, developing technology, and improving patient outcomes worldwide. Using clinical expertise and scale, Hanger Ventures will invest in O&P entrepreneurs and small businesses, helping to bring innovative O&P healthcare solutions to the market.
“Hanger Ventures will enable us to provide resources typically not accessible to entrepreneurs and small businesses, collaborating from incubation to commercialization,” said CEO Pete Stoy. “This type of collaboration enables us to be at the forefront of innovation, with involvement in research and development centered around patient outcomes, ultimately providing more access and better care across the O&P community.”
James Campbell, PhD, chief clinical officer, will serve as president of Hanger Ventures. Campbell, who also leads the Hanger Institute and Clinical and Scientific Affairs division, has 40 years of experience in O&P, specifically in leadership and research, as well as a named inventor on five issued patents.
“Dr. Campbell is uniquely qualified to lead Hanger Ventures, leveraging his expertise, the work of the Hanger Institute, and our nationwide outcomes data to move the entire practice of O&P forward,” Stoy said.
“Only at Hanger are we positioned to collaborate in this capacity,” Campbell said. “Hanger Ventures marks another significant step in our desire to transform O&P while creating value for our partners throughout the care continuum.”
