Hanger, Austin, Texas, will promote Jay Wendt, current acting west zone vice president, to the role of president, products and services, effective July 1. In his new role, Wendt will lead Hanger’s Southern Prosthetic Supply (SPS), Accelerated Care Plus (ACP), and SureFit businesses.
Wendt joined Hanger as west zone vice president in 2011 from his role as a division vice president of operations for Apria Healthcare Group, a U.S. provider of home healthcare medical equipment, products and services. His previous experience includes progressive leadership roles in the healthcare industry, including sales and marketing, after launching his early career as a respiratory therapist. He obtained his master’s of business administration degree from Baylor University, and his bachelor of science degree in healthcare administration and associate of science degree in respiratory therapy from Texas State University.
“[Wendt] brings deep experience and knowledge of patient care, healthcare services, business operations, and strategy to his leadership of products and services,” said Vinit Asar, president and CEO.
A search is under way for Wendt’s replacement.
