Gregory S. Gruman, CP, passed away on July 9 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, after a short battle with cancer. He was 69.
Gruman was born in Minneapolis on October 3, 1948. He graduated from St. Olaf College where he studied English and sang in the choir, which he continued to do throughout his life.
Gruman was the fourth-generation owner of Minnesota-based Winkley Orthotics & Prosthetics, which was founded in 1888. Gruman served on several local and national boards, eventually becoming president of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics in 1989. Gruman was a mentor to many including his two children, Alex and Amalia, now the fifth-generation owners of the company.
