Jason Stoneback, MD, professor of orthopedics, chief of orthopedic trauma and fracture surgery, and director of the Limb Restoration Program at the University of Colorado Hospital Anschutz Medical Campus passed away this month. He was 48.
Stoneback was widely recognized for his pioneering limb-salvage work, osseointegration and patient care.
“Dr. Stoneback was an exceptional physician, educator, and leader. In his roles as executive vice chair of clinical affairs, chief of orthopedic trauma and fracture surgery, and leader of the Limb Restoration Program, Dr. Stoneback transformed the lives of numerous patients through innovative and compassionate care. Our Limb Restoration Program is a world leader and Dr. Stoneback was its champion,” according to an announcement in the University of Colorado Anschutz newsletter on August 3.
