John Rudolph Milani, CPO, passed away on September 26. He was 67 years old.
A native New Yorker, Milani became passionate about O&P after a car accident resulted in bilateral lower-limb amputations. He began working at the New York City Veterans Administration Medical Center in 1974, where he ultimately became the clinical manager of the national Prosthetic/Orthotic Laboratory program before retiring in 2010. A highly skilled clinician and administrator, Milani was praised as a “champion of our profession,” by Ted Drygas, CPO, FAAOP, in an OANDP-L listserv post.
Milani is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughter, Stephanie; son, Peter; and a sister and a brother.
