The Jaipur Foot organization and its United States affiliate, Jaipur Foot USA, are teaming up with the Frugal Innovation Hub of the Santa Clara University School of Engineering to develop an affordable myoelectric prosthetic hand, according to an article in The Economic Times.

The goal of the project is to offer the device for $500, according to D.R. Mehta, founder of Jaipur Foot. O.P. Choudhary, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, is coordinating the project, the article said.
