The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) has chosen the winners of the inaugural 2026 John Michael Student Poster Award, who will be recognized this week during the 52nd Academy Annual Meeting & Scientific Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Established in honor of John Michael, CPO, FAAOP, FISPO, the award celebrates excellence in student-led research and the legacy of a leader in O&P education and clinical advancement.
- First place: Christian Maron, MSPO, “The Effect of Prosthetic Foot-Ankle Stiffness on Rollover Shape Radius and Peak Ankle Power in Individuals With a Unilateral Transfemoral Amputation”
- Second place: Julia Perline, MSPO, and her team, “Relative Limb Placement for Stable Crawling in Infants With Limb Loss”
- Third place: Liliana Heyd, MSPO, “Enhancing Polypropylene”
