The $900 billion COVID-19 relief bill passed by Congress on December 21 included $284 billion for first and second forgivable loans from the Paycheck Protection Program, the small business loan program. The measure provides $12 billion specifically for very small businesses and minority depository institutions.
The bill will become final once signed by the President.
The COVID-19 relief was attached to a must-pass $1.4 trillion spending bill. The total cost of the package is $2.3 trillion, making it the second largest economic stimulus in US history.
