Limbitless Solutions, a research center at the University of Central Florida (UCF), was awarded an $84,000 grant from Walt Disney World as a result of innovative design and engineering to help others.
Limbitless will leverage the grant to grow its student scholars program by 30 percent—welcoming an additional 16 students into the program. The student scholars program operates as an interdisciplinary environment with opportunities for students across UCF’s colleges, including art, medicine, public relations, and computer science.
“We are so grateful to be awarded this Disney grant and the opportunity to grow our program and impact,” said Albert Manero, PhD, executive director of UCF’s Limbitless Solutions program. “This will enable our program to provide more opportunities that can unleash the potential of our students and create magical moments for our bionic kids and families.”
Disney’s investment helps Florida organizations in areas such as education, workforce development, arts and entertainment, homelessness, hunger, and more.
