Despite the havoc wreaked by Superstorm Sandy across the Eastern Seaboard, which affected travel plans nationwide, for those who battled rain, wind, and delays, Little Rock, Arkansas, was the place to be November 1-3 for the Pedorthic Footcare Association’s (PFA) 53rd Annual Symposium & Exhibition. This year’s call for submissions brought in a record-breaking number of abstracts. Covering all aspects of the pedorthics profession, the program challenged attendees to focus on various issues facing the pedorthic community. From clinical, business, and social topics to hands-on demonstrations, speakers and presenters were selected from a variety of allied healthcare practices and the business sector. They offered the international audience insights into the changes and developments in treatments, techniques, and business opportunities available to pedorthic professionals, not only in the United States, but worldwide.
