The Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSOP) program at Loma Linda University (LLU) has permanently closed its doors.
“With sadness we must share that the LLU Orthotics and Prosthetics MSOP program will be permanently closing and will no longer be accepting students,” according to an announcement on the university’s website.
Michael Moor, CPO, MHS, said they stopped taking new students in June 2024. While the program had to close due to financial constraints, the hope is to reopen again within three years with a new program and format, he said.
“We are currently in our last in-person quarter then the students have one more quarter in externship before graduating in June. We will officially close the program June 30,” he said.
Accreditation for the program was granted in 2013 by the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education.
