The National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics (NAAOP) released a webcast in which Peter Thomas, JD, general counsel for NAAOP, discussed the upcoming Congressional midterm elections and NAAOP’s new board members.
Thomas said that the changing dynamics surrounding the elections are expected to impact the ability to advance healthcare legislation, but Congress is expected to be very active after the election. It will need to pass a massive omnibus spending bill to fund the federal government by December 16 or another continuing resolution. Congress must also pass parts or all of H.R. 1990, the Medicare O&P Patient-Centered Care Act, before the session adjourns.
NAAOP also elected four new board members: Ben Auzenne, Jeff Cain, MD, Adam Miller, and Steven D. Miller, CPO/L. To read more about them, visit “NAAOP Elects New Board Members.”
