Danielle Melton, MD, joined the Limb Restoration Program at the University of Colorado (UC) School of Medicine and UCHealth in Aurora, Colorado. She will be the director of amputation medicine and rehabilitation in the CU department of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Melton will help expand the UCHealth osseointegration clinical program with Jason Stoneback, MD, in the department of orthopedics, and Kate Payne, MD, medical director of the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
Melton specializes in the rehabilitation of orthopedic trauma with an emphasis on non-surgical management of patients with limb salvage and amputation encompassing pre-prosthetic or bracing management, prosthetic design and prescription, rehabilitation, and pain management, following patients over the long term to provide comprehensive continuity of care.
She is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and an associate professor in the UC department of orthopedic surgery. Melton received her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University and completed medical school and residency at Baylor College of Medicine.
