Manchester Mayor Robert Baines joined the Next Step staff in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new facility. Over 150 patients, friends, family, city leaders, and media personalities attended the event, which included a two-hour Fitness for Everyone clinic for rehabilitation professionals and amputees conducted by Paralympic gold medalists Dennis Oehler and Todd Schaffhauser. "The fabulous turnout at our Grand Opening confirms that Next Step proves to be an important, viable business contributing to the revitalization of the mill district and the local business community as well," said Matt Albuquerque, Next Step's co-founder and vice president. "It is a tribute to the efforts the city has made to see strong family-run companies grow and prosper in Manchester," said Baines. "I wish Next Step Orthotics and Prosthetics continued growth and success." Next Step has offices in North Andover, Massachusetts, and Warwick, Rhode Island, as well as its new location in Manchester.
