PEL Supply Company of Cleveland Ohio has promoted Paulette Leimkuehler Vaughn to the position of executive vice president of sales and marketing. In her new role, Vaughn will direct the company's activities in advertising and public relations, sales promotion, catalogs and collateral materials, Internet and website development and maintenance, vendor relations, educational seminars, and trade show participation. Vaughn has long been active in the O&P industry and is a past president of the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Auxiliary. Most recently, she was a member of the Joint Meeting Negotiating Task Force. She has been with PEL Supply since 1976 and was profiled in a recent article on "Prominent Women in O&P" (The O&P Almanac, March 2003). The daughter of industry pioneer and PEL founder Paul E. Leimkuehler, CP, who died in 1993, Vaughn began her career in social work after graduating with a BA from Ohio University, Athens. She began working for the fledgling wholesale supply company part time in the advertising department, and her responsibilities increased as the company grew and prospered. She soon was working full time to create comprehensive catalogs of orthotic and prosthetic products. Over the years, her role expanded to encompass all facets of the company's marketing communications and sales support. She was named vice president in 1993.
