The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS),
Washington DC, announced a new project that will expand efforts to
make it easier for Medicaid beneficiaries to track their healthcare
services and better communicate with providers online. The pilot
program will enable certain beneficiaries–those who are members of
the participating health plans in this study, according to Don
McLeod, public affairs specialist for CMS–to access and use a
Personal Health Record (PHR), a collection of information about an
individual’s health or healthcare services, provided through
participating health plans. The program will be available at www.mymedicare.gov.
