The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), based in San Diego,
California, will auction a prized slot to the 2007 or 2008 Ford
Ironman® World Championship, an event held every October in
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, at a gala dinner in New York City on
Wednesday, July 18. The winning bidder can choose which year they
would prefer to race. Proceeds from the auction will help fund
specialized equipment, training, and coaching for physically
challenged athletes so they can participate in the sports that many
able-bodied individuals take for granted.
