Dan Sheret, the adventurous endurance bicyclist and amputee, has
completed the United States portion of his around-the-world Ability
Trek 2007 tour. Less than three months after pedaling out of
Washington DC, Sheret dipped the front wheel of his bike into the
Pacific Ocean, 4,120 miles (6,629k) from his starting point,
signaling an end to the first stage of his tour to raise awareness
of the global landmine issue and funds for amputees who have been
injured by in such accidents. His efforts are benefiting Clear Path
International (www.cpi.org) and the Iraq Prosthetic Center in Basra
(www.basraproject.com).
