Hugh Herr, PhD, a double amputee and associate professor of
media arts and sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology (MIT), Cambridge, was named the winner of the 13th
annual Heinz Award for Technology, the Economy, and Employment. The
award is among the largest individual achievement prizes in the
world, according to MIT. The Heinz Awards will be presented Oct. 22
at a private ceremony in Pittsburgh.
