Researchers from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, and
Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Sciences Center in Baton
Rouge are working together to create a computer system to help
those with diabetes by using algorithms to organize retinal photos
and data from the state’s clinics, The Shreveport Times
reports. The algorithms will help predict which patients will
develop symptoms faster and then schedule appointments for them
with specialists.
