Doubletree Hotels, Beverly Hills, California, announced on
August 11 that it has joined the Arbor Day Foundation in a “green”
tribute to the Olympic and Paralympic athletes of Team USA. For
every medal that an U.S. Olympian or Paralympian receives in
Beijing, Doubletree will donate trees to be planted through the
Arbor Day Foundation’s need-based reforestation projects across
America. For each gold medal won, Doubletree will donate 100 trees
to be planted in the winning athlete’s honor. For every silver
medal, 50 trees will be donated, and for every bronze, 25 trees
will be to be donated. Each medal-winning athlete will also be
presented with a tree-planting certificate.
