HealthSouth Corporation, Birmingham, Alabama, announced on
August 18 that it has entered into an agreement with RehabCare
Group Inc., St. Louis, Missouri to acquire its 38-bed RehabCare
Rehabilitation Hospital-Permian Basin in Midland, Texas. According
to RehabCare, operations at the hospital are scheduled to end on or
about August 29, 2008. When the transaction closes in the third
quarter of 2008, the hospital’s operations will relocate to
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa, Texas, a
60-bed rehabilitation hospital.
