The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) has announced that Hanger Orthopedic Group, Bethesda, Maryland, has contributed $40,000 to the coalition, becoming an ACA Gold Sponsor. Gold sponsorships are one of the nonprofit organization’s top three levels of corporate sponsorship. According to the ACA, sponsorships help the coalition sustain its programs, which serve the entire amputee community.
“Since our founding in 1861, Hanger has been committed to improving the lives of people with limb loss by providing them with innovative patient care and education,” said Hanger President and CEO Tom Kirk. “The ACA shares a similar commitment to improving the lives of the patients we serve, especially in the areas of education, support, and advocacy in the public arena. This commonality of values and patients produces a natural alignment of goals.”
“The Amputee Coalition extends its gratitude to Hanger Orthopedic Group for this generous sponsorship,” said Kendra Calhoun, ACA president and CEO. “The sponsorships we receive help us to reach even more of the nearly two million individuals in the United States affected by limb loss through education, outreach and advocacy.”
