CAF spokesperson Cody McCasland, a seven-year-old bilateral transfemoral amputee from Colleyville, Texas, will be featured on Dateline NBC, which is scheduled to air Sunday, May 17, at 7 p.m. PST. Keith Morrison will share McCasland’s story. According to CAF, the show will consist of two segments highlighting McCasland’s involvement with injured military personnel, including inspiring members of Team Operation Rebound Ironman 70.3 California, a reunion with injured marine Kevin McCloskey, a special CAF presentation, and more. CAF spokesperson Scout Bassett of Harbor Springs, Michigan, will be highlighted during the airing of the 2009 Nautica South Beach Triathlon, which is being presented by Toyota national television on the Fox Sports Network. Bassett, 20, has completed 15 triathlons. She had a right transfemoral amputation due to severe burns at a young age.
According to CAF, the broadcast will include Bassett’s story and mention the John Paul Mitchell Award she received at the event.
