Orthocare Innovations, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has appointed Jim Lagerstrom, CP, as national sales manager. Lagerstrom has fifteen years of sales experience in O&P with positions at Becker Orthopedic, Troy, Michigan; Century XXII Innovations (now a subsidiary of Ossur, Reykjavik, Iceland), and, most recently, with Allard USA, Rockaway, New Jersey.
A consumer of prosthetic technology himself, Lagerstrom has competed in five Winter Paralympic Games as a skier, winning four medals since 1992. In recognition of his athletic achievement, Jim was honored in 2007 with induction to the Athletes with Disabilities Hall of Fame.
“We are very fortunate at Orthocare Innovations to be adding Jim Lagerstrom to our growing team,” commented Orthocare CEO Doug McCormack. “Jim brings not only a strong sales track record, but also clinical and prosthetic device-user perspectives, along with a general level of respect that he has attained in the field that will assist us tremendously in building our business.”
Lagerstrom has also been active in community-service activities in the area of disability sport, including as a board member of the Orthotic & Prosthetic Assistance Fund (OPAF), and as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Athletes Advisory Council. He is also a motivational speaker for various civic organizations, championing the concept of strength through disability.
