Otto Bock HealthCare, Duderstadt, Germany, has announced two transitions in its upper management. It has promoted Brad Ruhl to the newly created position of president and CEO of Otto Bock HealthCare US, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Scott Schneider to the newly created position of chief marketing officer for its North American region.

As president and CEO, Ruhl will be responsible for all activities related to the company’s prosthetic, custom orthotic, and mobility products, including the C-Leg® prosthetic knee. He has been employed at Otto Bock since 1988, managing sales, marketing, and operational functions. He
has been a member of the board of directors for the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) since 2004, served as its 2008 president, and currently serves as AOPA vice president and as a member of its executive committee. He was a member of the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) board of directors from 1998 to 2004 and served as chairperson of the ACA’s public policy and advocacy committee.

Scott Schneider
Schneider has spent five of his seven years at Otto Bock as the global vice president of socket technologies located at Otto Bock headquarters. Schneider’s background includes serving as the co-founder of TEC, St. Cloud, Minnesota, from 1988-2002. During his tenure, the organization won the 1995 Small Business of the Year award from the Small Business Administration, and won the 2002 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year regional award and was inducted into its hall of fame. His education includes St. Johns University, New York, New York; St. Cloud State; and the University of Minnesota, with his studies focusing on medical and prosthetic care as well as journalism, mass communications, and business.
