The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) announced that the dates of its 36th Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium have changed. The meeting will be held February 24-27, 2010, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, Illinois, which is one month earlier than originally planned.
Peter Rosenstein, the Academy’s Executive Director stated, “The Academy sincerely apologizes for this change, which is something we had no control over. The Chicago Hyatt abrogated their contract with the Academy, and the dates that the hotel can accommodate our Annual Meeting are February 24-27, 2010.
“These dates do not conflict with any other O&P event,” Rosenstein added. “The alternative was to cancel our meeting this year, but we know that our members need PCE credits, so that was not an option.”
The Academy noted that because of the change in dates, the hotel has lowered the room rate to $152. The Preliminary Program, which outlines the sessions that will be presented at the show along with a list of exhibitors, is set to drop at the end of October as scheduled.
