Fillauer Companies, Chattanooga, Tennessee, has acquired the OTS Corporation, which has offices in Weaverville, North Carolina, and Bradenton, Florida.
According to Fillauer Companies, OTS was founded in 1978 by Timothy Pansiera, CO, in Pompano Beach, Florida. The company was originally a provider of orthotic devices. In 1983, a second division was created to produce the StepLock knee joint. In 1990, OTS moved to Weaverville, North Carolina, to open its third division, which manufactured the PDQ Quartz Infrared Ovens. In 2000, OTS acquired a manufacturing facility in Bradenton, Florida, for orthotic component production. Since 1978, OTS has been operated as a family-managed business. Timothy Pansiera, director of product development and Terry Pansiera, secretary/treasurer, will continue in their current roles at the company.
“As the founder of OTS, I would like to say that we are looking forward to moving OTS to a new level of service and innovation,” Pansiera said. “Fillauer Companies possess a great combination of business management, educational training, and engineering abilities that we feel will enhance our growth within our new family of companies. The nicest part of this merger is that our customers will find all of their favorite OTS personnel are still there to help them.”
Dennis Williams, president and COO of the Fillauer Companies, commented, “OTS is a great addition to Fillauer Companies for several reasons. The OTS line of PDQ Ovens extends and complements our existing Trautman Tools and Equipment. OTS orthotic components such as StepLock, InterLock, Close Contour, and Integrated Ankle will broaden the Fillauer orthotic line with very little overlap. In addition to OTS product manufacturing, their orthotic central fabrication department located in Asheville will expand the existing services currently offered in our Chattanooga and Campbell central fabrication.”
