The Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JPO) has been honored with the silver award in the scholarly/technical/scientific journal category in Association TRENDS’ 2009 All-Media Contest. JPO was one of more than 425 entries in the association-publications contest.
The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, (the Academy) has published the JPO for more than 30 years. According to the Academy, “It promotes and disseminates scientific and technical advances in prosthetics and orthotics as well as developments in clinical practice, research, education, and technology. It is the premiere forum for O&P research. Its content is applicable to a multi-disciplinary group of healthcare professionals. Published quarterly with a subscription base of over 5,000, the JPO is used as a standard for education in residency and training programs.”
The Academy stated in a press release that it is “thrilled to have won this honor,” which is meant to recognize the most creative and effective communication vehicles developed in the industry over the prior year.
