The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has stated in a press release that it will present a tentative timeline for Round 2 of the competitive bidding program for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) on February 23 during a Program Advisory and Oversight Committee meeting at its Baltimore headquarters. The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., with the final hour being reserved for public comment.
According to HomeCare magazine, the same meeting will feature updates on the 2010 Round 1 rebid, performance of the online bidding system and accreditation, plus plans for education offerings for supplier/referral agents and beneficiaries as well as discussion of the ombudsman program.
