In spite of the economy, PrimeFare West maintained attendance again this year, with 65 attendees and 33 exhibitors.
This year, for the first time, PrimeFare West and exhibitor companies sponsored ten practitioners from the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to attend the February 19-20 event.
“When we found out that their education budget had been cut back severely this year, we wanted to do something to help out,” said Jane Edwards, PrimeCare partner and vice president. “Thanks to Natural Step, PEL Supply, Becker Orthopedic, and Cascade Orthopedic Supply, along with a contribution from our company, we were able to provide education for their entire professional staff.”
Kevin Pruitt, PrimeCare director of recruiting, added, “Big Sky Country, which is primarily where the meeting draws attendees from, represents only 22 percent of the U.S. population but has nearly three times the land mass. That can make it difficult for supplier representatives to efficiently get around to visit a lot of practitioners out west, so it is helpful to have them all together every year…. If you look at the much sparser population when comparing our PrimeFare West symposium with the PrimeFare East symposium, you get a better feel for how successful this regional meeting is.” According to PrimeCare, the PrimeFare meetings’ combined attendance breaks out very similarly to their regions’ population, with 27 percent attending PrimeFare West and the remaining 73 percent attending PrimeFare East.
Edwards concluded, “We are already gearing up for PrimeFare East, which will be held June 4-5, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee.”
