The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) announced that it will be conducting a Practice Analysis Survey of the Orthotic Fitter. ABC said the survey results will help define the certification, education, and training of future fitters; develop valid and reliable examinations; and convey to those disciplines outside the profession the scope of services provided by O&P professionals.
ABC said it urges all ABC-certified orthotic fitters to participate in the survey “to ensure the quality of the certification examination and to make sure ABC fully assesses the domains, tasks, knowledge, and skills needed in the profession.”
ABC said it will send the survey out by e-mail within the next few months.
