Michael Meramo, CPO, LPO, has joined Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics as a managing practitioner of the company’s Exton, Pennsylvania, patient care facility. According to Jeffrey Brandt, CPO, CEO of Ability P&O, Meramo will co-manage the Exton facility alongside Taffy Bowman, CPO, who joined the Exton facility in April.
Meramo brings more than 25 years of experience to his new position. In the mid 1980s, he was hired as an assistant director at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, New York, where, among other things, he fabricated orthopedic devices for the New York Giants. In 1990, he joined Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pennsylvania, where he was tasked with developing a new O&P department. In 1993, he founded M&M Prosthetics & Orthotics, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He sold his company to Jack Gold Surgical Appliances in 2008 but remained involved with the company as its clinical director and vice president.

Meramo holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey, and is a graduate of New York University’s two-year O&P program. He completed his internship at Kessler Rehabilitation in New Jersey.
