The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) won a Gold Award from the international MarCom Awards competition in the External Communication Program category.
The MarCom Awards is an international competition that recognizes “outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals,” according to an Academy press release. This year’s contest had more than 5,000 entries from the United States and several foreign countries.
The award recognized the Academy’s O&P career awareness campaign featuring the video, A Future With Meaning: Making a Career of Making a Difference, and a brochure detailing an overview of the profession and information on available Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)-approved education programs.
The Academy’s Paul E. Leimkuehler Online Learning Center (OLC) received an honorable mention in the Web-Based Training category.
“This type of recognition highlights the work of the Academy and our efforts to advance the profession,” said Academy President Scott Cummings, PT, CPO, FAAOP. “The many volunteers who dedicated their time to work with staff on the Career Kit and Online Learning Center projects are to be commended.”
