At the 1996 Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy), oandp.com was unveiled to more than 100 Academy members, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by John Billock, CPO, who was Academy president at the time.
This year marks oandp.com’s 15th anniversary.
“Through the years, the vision and role of oandp.com has continued to evolve,” said Paul Prusakowski, CPO, CEO of oandp.com and OPIE Software, Gainesville, Florida. “We now provide a continuum of online and software resources, ranging from free online tools to our OPIE practice-management software.”
Prusakowski credits The O&P EDGE magazine with helping to “make the oandp.com portal the industry’s leading choice for news and information.”
Tonja Randolph, president of Western Media LLC, Northglenn, Colorado, and publisher of The O&P EDGE said, “We recognized early on that if we wanted to be a content leader for the O&P industry, we needed to partner with an O&P specific, technology-focused Internet company. For us, oandp.com was the natural choice.”
oandp.com will celebrate its anniversary with a party at this year’s Academy Annual Meeting. The party is being co-sponsored by OPAF and the First Clinics and will be combined with OPAF’s First Bid live and silent auction. The party will be held March 17 from 7-10 p.m. in the St. Martinique Ballroom. Admission is free, and all Academy Meeting participants are invited to attend.
