The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC) has become a Cobble Stone Sponsor of the Amputee Coalition’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp for 2011. The Cobble Stone sponsorship represents a $5,000 financial commitment to this five-day traditional summer camp experience for children ages ten-17 who have lost an arm or leg or were born with limb differences.
“Our youth camp is a unique and especially impactful program for kids living with limb loss or limb difference,” said Kendra Calhoun, Amputee Coalition president and CEO. “ABC is a strong partner with the Amputee Coalition, and we are grateful for their generous contribution that will help us bring 100 youth to camp this July.”
According to Calhoun, the camp is supported through gifts and grants. She said outcomes from the camp include enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence for participants.
“The youth camp is a life-changing program for youth with limb loss and limb difference,” said Catherine A. Carter, executive director for ABC. We are proud to be able to continue the support of the camp in 2011.” ABC has supported the Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp since 2009.
