Scott Spring, CP, has joined the Advanced Arm Dynamics (AAD), Redondo Beach, California, upper-limb clinical team at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Washington DC.
“In 2003, AAD was selected to be the sole provider of upper extremity prosthetic care for wounded soldiers returning to Walter Reed,” said John Miguelez, CP, president and senior clinical director of AAD. “Adding Mr. Spring to our team helps to further ensure the highest level of care for our servicemen and women who have experienced upper-limb loss.”
Before the appointment, Spring served as the director of prosthetics at Dynamic Orthotics and Prosthetics, Houston, Texas. Prior to that, he was senior prosthetist at Muilenburg Prosthetics, Houston, Texas, and also worked at Central Texas Orthotics and Prosthetics, Bryan, as a senior prosthetist/orthotist.
Spring received a bachelor of science degree in prosthetics and orthotics from the University of Texas Southwestern, Dallas, and a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Texas A&M University, College Station. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy).
“Upper extremity loss can be extremely debilitating,” Spring said. “I have seen patients’ lives enhanced by specialized upper-limb care, and I want to be part of the AAD clinical team because of their clear commitment to providing the very best outcomes for patients.”
