Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, Austin, Texas, has promoted Amy Schaumburg and Thomas Bourgeois to regional sales manager. Each will be responsible for expanded business development teams at Hanger; Schaumburg will cover Missouri, Wisconsin, and Illinois, and Bourgeois will cover Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. Their roles will include planning the company’s sales strategies, developing the skills of the sales team, implementing growth initiatives, and consulting and collaborating with upper management.
“It gives me great pleasure to promote Amy and Thomas to this new role,” Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics Regional Vice President of Sales, Diana Faulkner, said. “They continually meet and exceed expectations, and I am confident they will do the same in their new role[s] as regional sales manager.”
In their previous positions as senior business development manager (BDM), which Schaumburg and Bourgeois each held for the past three years, they supported the Hanger sales team, continued to grow their own territories, assisted in the development and training of other BDMs, and worked on special projects.
Schaumburg began her career in O&P in 1994. Twice she has earned the Hanger title “Business Development Manager of the Year,” first in 2005, and then again in 2007.
Bourgeois, a three-time Paralympian and transtibial amputee, began as a Hanger patient and patient advocate. He later joined the Hanger sales team after retiring from athletics in 2002. Bourgeois also serves as a regional Amputee Empowerment Partners (AEP) coordinator, providing peer support to people who are about to face an amputation or have recently undergone amputation surgery.
