U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), announced that OPAF and The First Clinics is one of 55 organizations selected to receive a 2010-2011 Olympic Opportunity Paralympic Fund grant.
“OPAF is honored to be selected as one of 55 organizations nationwide for such funding,” said Robin Burton, OPAF executive director. “The funding will represent First Swing/Learn to Golf Clinics within the state of Iowa to aid Iowa disabled veterans… as well as active duty military personnel.”
Olympic Opportunity Fund grants ranging up to $50,000 were awarded to community-based organizations to create and expand Paralympic sport and physical activity programs for disabled veterans and disabled members of the armed forces. This project is funded through a federal award given by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to U.S. Paralympics.
