New England Orthotic and Prosthetic Systems (NEOPS), headquartered in Branford, Connecticut, announced that it has delivered a donation of knee braces and similar orthotic devices to U.S. special forces troops on patrol in Afghanistan.
During patrols, the special forces teams walk up to 15 miles per day along challenging terrain carrying heavy packs with weights approaching 100 pounds. As a result, many troops have encountered knee and joint problems. The braces are made from a new material that wicks moisture and heat away from the body.
“While NEOPS is privileged to serve our patients with exceptional care, it is an honor to help the men and women of our armed forces who are performing under the most difficult of conditions,” said Ron Manganiello, CEO of NEOPS in a press release.
