The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) issued a Sources Sought Notice on December 27 to obtain market research on small business sources to provide prosthetic limbs, prosthetic limb fabrication, and related services for eligible beneficiaries within the Veterans Integrated Services Network 18 (VISN 18). According to the solicitation, this notice is posted for the purpose of market research only, and information received will be used for planning purposes.
VISN 18 consists of seven VA Healthcare Systems: Albuquerque, New Mexico; Amarillo, Big Spring, and El Paso, Texas; Phoenix, Prescott, and Tucson, Arizona. The small business sources include service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB), veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB), small businesses in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZones), socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses that are accepted in the 8(a) business assistance program, woman-owned businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, etc. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, applies and the size standard is 500 employees.
