Tamarack Habilitation Technologies, Blaine, Minnesota, has announced the appointment of Joe Hofmeister as its new chief operating officer. In his new position, Hofmeister will work closely with company founder and chief engineer, Marty Carlson, and the clinical, engineering, marketing, and business development teams to identify, prioritize, and develop opportunities for the company’s emerging O&P, wound care, and complex rehabilitation technologies.
Hofmeister brings more than 20 years of medical device commercialization experience to Tamarack. Most recently, he was with ostomy and continence care manufacturer Coloplast, Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he was the senior manager of strategic marketing and business development.
He has a master of business administration degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and a bachelor of art degree from Macalester College, St. Paul, where he earned double majors in political science and international studies.
“Joe’s background matches Tamarack’s existing opportunities perfectly,” said Carlson. “We have a large and growing backlog of innovative intellectual property (IP) in the arenas of O&P, rehab technology, and wound prevention and healing…. I am very happy to have Joe on board and anxious to see what he accomplishes.”
