Neuros Medical, Willoughby, Ohio, announced the expansion of its clinical advisory board with the additions of Salim Hayek, MD, PhD, and Leonardo Kapural, ME, PhD. They join current members Michael Stanton-Hicks, MD, of Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, and Amol Soin, MD, of the Ohio Pain Clinic, Dayton, who has chaired the clinical advisory board since its formation.
Hayek is currently the chief of the Division of Pain Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and a professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. He received his medical degree in 1991 from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and earned his doctorate in cellular physiology at Case Western Reserve University in 2000. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine and serves on the editorial board of several pain journals.
Kapural is the clinical director of the Pain Center at Wake Forest University Health Sciences, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; of the Carolinas Pain Institute, Winston-Salem, and of the Center for Clinical Research, Winston-Salem. He is also a professor of anesthesiology at Wake Forest University, School of Medicine. Kapural earned a medical degree and a doctorate of philosophy at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Croatia. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Association for the Study of Pain, International Spine Intervention Society, American Neuromodulation Society, and World Institute of Pain.
