Argo Medical Technologies, Yokneam Illit, Israel, the developer of the ReWalk robotic exoskeleton, and Yaskawa Electric Corporation, Kitakyushu, Japan, a robotics company and developer of the Ankle Walking Assist Device (AWAD), an exoskeleton orthosis, have signed a strategic partnership agreement.
Yaskawa is the largest single investor in Argo, and will also serve as the exclusive ReWalk distributor in Japan, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea. The partnership will help advance the ReWalk infrastructure and technology and expand research and development, according to an ARGO press release.
“This strategic partnership will bring significant value through the synergy of Yaskawa’s technology in the general field of robotics combined with our expertise in the human factors and treatment of spinal cord injuries,” Argo CEO Larry Jasinski said. “We look forward to this mutually beneficial partnership as we enter a new phase of development and growth.”
