The Amputee Coalition has announced its 2014 officers and board of directors. Serving are Dennis Strickland of Georgia, as chairman; Marshall J. Cohen of New York, as immediate past chair; Dan Berschinski of California, as chair-elect; Jeff Lutz of Louisiana, as vice-chair; Mahesh Mansukhani of California, as secretary; and Leslie Pitt Schneider of Minnesota, as treasurer. Each officer will serve for a one-year term.
“We are fortunate to have such accomplished board members who are also dedicated and passionate about serving the limb loss community,” said Sue Stout, interim president and CEO of the Amputee Coalition. “The depth of their backgrounds and expertise is invaluable to the Coalition.”
“I am honored to serve as chairman of the board,” said Strickland. “We will work to guide the Amputee Coalition as it continues to meet its mission of enhancing the quality of life for amputees and their families, improving patient care, and preventing limb loss.”
Continuing on the Amputee Coalition board are Ron Drach of Maryland; Michael Estrada of North Carolina; Col. Gregory D. Gadson of Virginia; Terrence P. Sheehan, MD, of Maryland; and Charlie Steele of North Carolina.
According to Strickland, the board anticipates expanding and adding additional board members over the next 18 months.
