Hanger, Austin, Texas, announced that Richard Pettingill has been elected to its board of directors effective February 6; he qualifies as an independent director under applicable New York Stock Exchange listing standards.
Pettingill is the retired president and CEO of Allina Hospitals and Clinics, Cambridge, Minnesota. Prior to that he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plans and Hospitals, based in Oakland, California. Pettingill currently serves on the boards of directors of two other public companies, Accuray, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, and Tenet Healthcare, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. He received a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, California, and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from San Jose State University, California. He served as a 2010 fellow in the Advanced Leadership Initiative program at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
