A 42-week, multicenter follow-up study concludes that the Bioness L300® Foot Drop System demonstrated that individuals with foot drop following stroke continued to show clinically meaningful and statistically significant improvement in gait speed. The results were e-published ahead of print in the journal PM&R. The study is an extension of the primary 30-week analysis that demonstrated a similar impact with greater satisfaction when the L300 was compared to an AFO.
As a whole, the group experienced an immediate increase in walking speed of 19 percent, which continued to improve to 33.3 percent at 30 weeks as compared to baseline. This progressed to 45 percent improvement at the end of 42 weeks.
